EVERYTHING.
Yes, Grace eats anything and everything. She loves food. You can’t eat a bite of anything in front of her unless you want to give her a little bite. She is demanding!
If you are reading this thinking, good for you, but my kid eats nothing. No worries. Rewind 3 years. As a first time mom, I did not feed Boston as much as a variety of food as I do with Grace. At 1 year, Boston was eating some finger foods and quite a few purées. Fast forward to Elliana. She has terrible reflux the first 6 months of her life, so she was barely eating anything at age one. So, yes, I’ve been there. All kids are different, even within the same family.
As I look back, Boston could have been more like Grace is as an eater, but as a first time mom, I was much more cautious and slow with introducing food. Wherever you are with feeding I applaud you. Keep at it and try some of Grace’s favorite meals and snacks.
I always try to start the day with some protein, fruit, and a starch.
Grace’s Favorite Breakfasts
- Eggs (scrambled, over medium, hard boiled), toast with avocado, breakfast sausage
- Breakfast quiche
- Oatmeal (steel cut) with almond milk, chia seeds, almond butter, and banana (or any fruit)
- Pancakes with peanut butter, breakfast sausage, applesauce or yogurt
- Homemade bread or muffins ~ Check out my favorite recipes on the blog.

Lunch
Protein, veggie, starch
- Lunch meat and cheese (for the big kids I roll it up like a roll up), cut up veggies, bread and butter.
- Mac and Cheese (one of her favorites) with frozen veggies mixed right in and some type of sausage or ham. She likes kielbasa, mini cocktail wienies, or German white sausages (Aldi carries them). *** You can add frozen veggies to any pasta to spruce it up.
- Soup, I usually strain the broth off and give her the hearty stuff, unless it’s cheesy broccoli soup or chicken dumpling, then I spoon feed her because she loves them. Bread and butter. *** The big kids often eat grilled cheese with soup, but grace doesn’t care for the whole sandwich thing yet. I think it’s to big for her still.
Dinner
Grace eats whatever we are eating for dinner. I just cut up any meat into small bite size pieces and make sure that any veggies or harder food is cooked properly for her. We are currently into roasting our veggies, which works perfectly for Grace. She loves food and is always willing to try anything. And to be honest, she eats adult size portions… Where does it all go?
