Hello Monday morning, good bye weekend. I don’t know about you, but my weekends are usually full of family, good friends, delicious food and of course cold beverages. All the good stuff! But the good stuff has to come to an end.
As you may have heard me say before, I like to follow a healthy-ish lifestyle. I love to have Pizza on Friday night, a s’more or two around a Saturday night campfire and of course a few cocktails to cap the night off. But during the week, (Monday- Thursday) I try too stick to a more healthy lifestyle. The good old 80/20 rule: 80% healthy with 20% living life one s’more at a time, all in moderation. 😃
By Monday morning, I can really feel my body saying, “Ok, it’s time to recharge.” I like to start Monday mornings out with a nice little detox. It’s simple and makes me feel less bloated, more energetic, and ready to start my week off right.
I start the morning off with a lemon 🍋 salt water drink. I drink it on an empty stomach then after about a half an hour drink a delicious smoothie (check out my smoothie recipes) and of course some coffee! I usually feel pretty energized without the coffee, but by 10:00 am… I need it! So I decided to not skip it. #momlife😉.
So my lemon salt water detox is s simple cleanse. I am however not a doctor, so please consult yours if you have questions or are unsure. I just drink one glass of this mixture Monday mornings to get my body moving and ready for the week. I personally do not recommend drinking more than one glass.
So what is it???
Ingredients-
- One tea cup of warm tea water
- 1 teaspoon sea salt (I prefer pink Himalayan)
- 1/2 lemon – freshly squeezed
Directions-
- As you warm your tea water, add your sea salt and freshly squeezed lemon juice to the bottom of your tea cup. Poor warm water over the mixture and mix with a spoon. I try to drink the mixture within a 5 minute span. Mostly because it tastes pretty bad!
Disclaimer-
- After drinking your Monday morning detox, I’d recommend not going for a jog or heading out for errands right away. Let your body do its magic and get itself reset for the week.

It really made a difference in my energy level. I usually drink just warm lemon water Tuesday-Friday mornings. This is a great way to start the day and keep you hydrated! xo
